About Dr. Gifford
I am a New York State Licensed Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. After earning my doctoral degree from the George Washington University, graduating with highest honors for clinical work, I moved back to New York to train and practice. Subsequent to completing an internship and then fellowship at The Children’s Village, a residential treatment center, I was offered a staff position where I remained for 9 years. It was there, working in the foster care system, that I received advanced training in childhood anxiety and depression and where I specialized in treating trauma, both acute and chronic.
Over the past 8 years in private practice, I have focused on treating the whole child by working extensively with families and consulting with multidisciplinary professionals. I work closely with pediatricians, psychiatrists, schools, camps and others to build the strongest support systems for the children I treat. I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches and meet both child and family where they are at in order to optimize treatment and to best support everyone involved.
Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better.
